Although emotion and stress which affect your resoning processes seems to cloud that judgement.
Most IQ tests provide little measure of fluid intelligence.
A person can learn to improve his or her memory score, if correct responses are taught to the person.
Individual IQ score remains quite consistent as we get older.

Of course. How can you store things up for retrieval, assimilation and dissemination later if you don't have enough good memory? It's what makes a person knowledgeable. It's like a computer: it's speed and power - and thus, reputation - is greatly determined by its memory. Although intelligence has many facets and not just about good memory.
